Tail scale detail:
About a foot long; found, dead, in the parking-lot of the block of flats I live in. It's too boringly-coloured for an adder or a grass-snake, not enough legs for a lizard, but it doesn't look very like the slow-worm pictures I could find on the Net; I'd have thought the splayed-out scales at the tail were diagnostic, but the pictures on the Net didn't seem to show the tail.
