Having not got in early enough to book bed-and-breakfast in Cornwall over the end-of-May bank holiday, I'm going to Berlin instead. Berlin Schoenefeld airport is, after all, 45 minutes nearer by train, coach and Easyjet to me than St Ives station, even counting check-in times.
Lots of my readers are vastly better-travelled than I; what should I be looking out to see? There are museums, particularly of archaeology, which, from the guidebook I have, look fit to outshine London; there's the Brandenburg Gate and a whole lot of modern architecture near it; there's Checkpoint Charlie. Is there anything that people who have visited Berlin would tell me not to miss?
