(close shot) fivemack THROWS A DART AT THE MAP OF EUROPE

Having not got in early enough to book bed-and-breakfast in Cornwall over the end-of-May bank holiday, I'm going to Berlin instead. Berlin Schoenefeld airport is, after all, 45 minutes nearer by train, coach and Easyjet to me than St Ives station, even counting check-in times.

Lots of my readers are vastly better-travelled than I; what should I be looking out to see? There are museums, particularly of archaeology, which, from the guidebook I have, look fit to outshine London; there's the Brandenburg Gate and a whole lot of modern architecture near it; there's Checkpoint Charlie. Is there anything that people who have visited Berlin would tell me not to miss?

Good weekend

I'd just like to thank [livejournal.com profile] j4 and [livejournal.com profile] addedentry again for beer, books, cakes in the shape of books, books piled up like cakes, liberal democrats and BADGERS.

Tedious Mac question

Tiger seems to have broken ghci, which now says

Tom-Womacks-Computer:~/Projects/haskell tom$ ghci

dyld: Library not loaded: /sw/lib/libncurses.5.dylib

Referenced from: /sw/lib/libreadline.4.dylib

Reason: Incompatible library version: libreadline.4.dylib requires version 6.0.0 or later, but libncurses.5.dylib provides version 5.0.0

Trace/BPT trap

This is a very specific question but must be a case of a general problem; can anyone help me out?
