Bother. Three serious and fifteen minor faults: sticking out too far when reversing round a corner, not checking blind spot when moving off, and either signalling too late or stopping signalling too late.

More lessons and another test ordered, but no date yet.

I'd better think of something tasty to do with the cabbage. [livejournal.com profile] papersky has a wonderful recipe with cream and butter, but the version I remembered didn't come out anything like hers.

You're still doing better than me... frying cabbage with garlic and soy, also good.

I would usually use meat as well as the garlic and soy; either finely-cubed chicken or finely-squared bacon.

Ed's generosity was magnanimous; a red cabbage (I braised it with sultanas and apple; 1.2kg of cabbage to start with, so four people ate copiously and it still fills a bowl) and a green one, which, yes, I will fry with chicken, garlic and soy.
