That's DOCTOR middle brother to you!
My middle brother James had his DPhil viva at Oxford this afternoon; he passed! And with typos but no corrections, which is more than I managed.
The thesis is on W H Auden and translation; James also writes poetry, and book reviews fearsome in attack and erudition alike. He's a good translator, too; if you have a quantity of Russian which would suit your purposes better in English, maybe you can hire him.

Does anyone know anyone that passed without typos?

says 'My thesis, entitled Permutation Groups, Error-Correcting Codes and Uncoverings, was examined on 21st December 2005, and was passed without corrections (no, I couldn't believe that either)', so it does happen; I could imagine Oxbridge having a uraltes policy of never passing immediately.
Googling on 'passed without corrections' gets everybody who put their boast of passing without corrections into their CV; there are at least a few pages of them
