Is a sleep pattern meant to look like this?

The oscillations of period 2 around the really smooth moving average look like an inadequately damped feedback system; I wonder what sort of thing would work as a damper?

How did you record the time you went to sleep? Or is it just the time you went to bed, adjusted for how long you think it takes you to fall asleep?

I don't think you want a MA model, there. Try AR2 or ARMA(2,2). Or ALARM.

Are the gaps in the data due to not keeping records of way too much coffee?

I'm not sure if it's normal, but I have a habit of not sleeping a huge amount during the week and often much more at weekends, or at least dozing more at weekends.

I'm not sure how much this is due to a need to sleep, or my disinclination to get out of bed, bit of both I'd guess.
