http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=482998 -- March (intended return by train, actually bus to Ely then taxi)
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=483027 -- Ickworth and Bury (return by train)
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=483039 -- Audley End (back the way I came)

Anyone got any more good ideas for routes of that sort of 50km length around Cambridge? Bury was probably my favourite, nice rolling countryside and very picturesque villages, and there's much more to see at Ickworth than there is in March.

My granparents live in March. Your bike route takes you just a few minutes away from their house.

And you're right, there's not much to see in March. I quite like the park bit, though. It's got a sort of adventure playground for adults (rope climbing, monkey bars, etc.)

Moderately picturesque, only one really hard hill, nice destination, different route home.

How did you get the nice height plot? GPS, or some button I haven't found yet?

A circle round out Newmarket Road, up past Anglesey Abbey in Quy to Swaffham Bulbeck, then down through Weston Colville and environs to Linton to visit the zoo and back down the road that turns into Hill's Road is about the right length, and the zoo in the middle's a bonus; though the next available weekend is the last of October, and the weather may be bad by then.

There's an elevation option: small, large or none. It doesn't always want to work, doesn't seem to have reliable elevation data for all of the UK yet.

Sadly I'm away the last two weekends of October, and was thinking of taking next weekend very easy. Would be nice to go out for a ride with you and bring Mike sometime though. We'll just have to look out for nice weekends in November!
