Mmm, design ...

At http://www.bankofgreece.gr/en/exhibition-euro/designer/designer.html

there's an on-line exhibition of all the designs submitted for the Euro notes competition. Pick a designer and a denomination, mouse-over the note to see the other side.

http://www.bankofgreece.gr/en/exhibition-euro/designer/Mueller/t_mueller_200.html would be a singularly terrifying face to have peering from one's pocket on the rare occasions that one sees an EUR200 note. I like the snail on Robert Ballagh's EUR5, and the leaf on the reverse of Erik Bruun's EUR100.

The Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.A. 's EUR50 seems to be the graphic-design equivalent of ransom-note desktop publishing

Cool thing :-) I couldn't help thinking they went for a safe, 'committee' choice, even if it is quite a good one.
