The Frauenkirche dates from the late fifteenth century - it was planned to have an elaborate openwork spire, but they ran out of money and put the pepperpots on in 1525; the Neues Rathaus dates from 1909 but was clearly designed to fit in with the late fifteenth century.

Unrelatedly: I remember, and miss, the year-on-year chart you used to update here (http://tom.womack.net/computing/prices.html) - I perceive that processors haven't got much faster over the last decade, though multi-core processors are commonplace these days whereas then they weren't. (If you were also to tell me that a single-core 2.8 GHz processor now is much more powerful in some way than a single-core 2.8 GHz processor then, I'd be prepared to believe you.) Certainly processor speeds aren't nearly as much of a selling point as once they were. I'd also be prepared to believe that GPUs take a much greater share of the heavy lifting than once they did.

Related to that, I remember this chart of yours (http://tom.womack.net/computing/prices/disc_value.png) and thought you might enjoy this chart (https://twitter.com/DataIsAmazing/status/378190326407888896), showing this data over a sixty-year span.
