Jul. 27th, 2009 09:10 amI've finally tracked down the wild Canadian wifi in a Timothy's - I imagine there's some tale of complicated schisms and long lawsuits required to distinguish Tim Horton's and Timothy's - opposite Old City Hall bang in the middle of Toronto.
I may be the only person at this conference with both 'first-time attendee' and 'mentor' endorsements on his badge.
I made it to the 0745 opening lecture on Sunday and to the Reception for Young Scientists that night, then fell among the Queen's University Kingston crystallographers and spent the evening sipping wheat beer and eating cheesecake in Little Italy. There is a point on the path of wisdom where one starts refusing free tequila at midnight but my head this morning is suggesting that I haven't yet reached that point.
I saw some Dead Sea Scrolls in the ROM on Saturday and wished hatam_soferet were there to explain scribal oddities.
