You are to be congratulated on your telescope-spotting skills:
I keep it in the corner of the living room to try to embarrass myself into actually using it from time to time. It's quite a nice telescope, the mountains on the Moon look pretty good through it, but I haven't got the adaptor for using it as the world's most cumbersome telephoto lens yet, and the mounting is made from thirty-one separate pieces of wobble stuck together with rubber bands, so it's almost impossible to point it at anything smaller or harder to find than the Moon.
The problem is, 'let's use the telescope' only ever comes up in a party when the party is already cosy and warm and the outside particularly bleak and cold.
I know exactly what you mean. I have a 4.5 inch meade which I have not used for far too long. I want to get an adapter for it too so that I can photograph objects with a webcam. There's far too much light pollution in London for stargazing... *sigh*
