You have The Jagged Orbit in the Oxfam list twice.

I couldn't work out whether that was done on purpose for comic effect.

I actually don't know those books, although hope you continue to provide recommendations :)

I was tempted to respond "[X] Getting things done, Dave Allen" to both questions :)

You mean [livejournal.com profile] livredor hasn't shoved Possession under your nose yet?

Apparently not! Should I make the effort?

I don't know. I think it's probably worth it; the problem is that I have been told that Possession is full of subtle interrelatednesses, and so feel I have to read with great care and fine-toothed comb through what feels like fifty pages of sub-Swinburne poetry, which makes it seem much more work than I'm generally willing to do after midnight on a sweat-soaked summer night.

I know nothing about the rest, but enjoyed The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles so would recommend finishing it before you give it away.

PS, I am currently reading "Niccolo Rising" which I think I borrowed from you something in the region of 3-4 years ago. Um. Would you like it back soon?

The only one I'm qualified to comment on is the Murakami, to which I will say: I like him very much but he's an acquired taste and TWUBC is a particularly long book of his, so if you're having to force yourself through it then I'd give up and try a shorter one.

Actually that's a good point.

You have to read loans from other people first, not to clear a debt but because you already know someone to enthuse/rage with (delete as appropriate).

I hear many excellent things about "Microcosm" and wish you to read it on my behalf.

Gawd, I don't know. I had made a resolution to get through my own To Read pile (I knew things were bad when I had to buy my To Read pile its own small bookcase); I reduced the resolution to 'get pile down to ten books' and I'm still failing.

My to-read pile has its own bookcase, and not small; this is the started-but-unfinished pile that has accumulated by my bed ...

I have two piles, neither of which quite need their own bookcase yet although they'd fill a whole shelf, of to-read and to-read+borrowed. I'm trying to make the latter a priority.
