Climate change aside - if only - other people's money goes further on a business trip if you're not bleary-eyed and bruised from failing to sleep on a sleeper train.
I can sleep OK on sleeper trains, but only if I have a compartment to myself (or myself-and-atreic); my mad scheme for going to Venice is somewhat cheaper than a single-person-compartment return on the sleeper.
Oh, I see: you're talking about actually buying four tickets to get yourself all four couchettes in the berth? That's reasonable, for a sufficiently valuable light sleeper (I can't imagine there are many)---if people keep doing it it will be worth the operators' providing enough beds for all. I thought you were talking about reserving seats for which at the last moment you weren't going to pay, which is selfish and immoral.
