I think it looks more like a duck in a chicken suit, but one that doesn't fit awfully well. Like those scary bear costumes where the person inside looks out of the bear's mouth, but with more beak.

But I think I like this novel more with each reading, as I gain more emotional distance from the chore of writing it.
