Denmark, Land of the Copious Pig

Not only do they have three kinds of hot pork product and five kinds of cold pork product here at the breakfast buffet, they also have pancakes. From the general shape of Danes, I can only assume they swim the Øresund twice daily.

It's the happiest country in the world, apparently. I found eating sensibly in Denmark much easier than the UK: they had sensible portions of nice stuff. Particularly noticeable was the difference between the airports. Getting back to the UK, it seemed quite insane, the boom-and-bust "naughty food" and "nice food".

I'm finding Copenhagen fairly productive of glum. Probably it's just weather - I don't do very well wandering through cities under overcast with occasional rain - but the architecture in great chunks of the city is unmitigated five-storey buildings painted either grey or greyish-yellow. All very rectilinear and well-planned.

Though some of the spires are excellent; there's one which consists of the intertwined tails of four crocodiles whose heads point in the cardinal directions at the bottom of the tower.

Food has come in large helpings and been rather expensive.
