From previous descriptions of your work set up my confidence in you hardly enters the equation, the real question is whether they've bought a sensible rack and a working server for you to install in the first place.

The rack is just the right size and pretty robust, the sides come off to make life easier, and the server has been checked to work fine before we mounted it.

We just didn't have any rack fixtures, so bolted the ears on either end of the rails to the pillars-with-square-holes-in of the rack with large bolts and washers obtained from Mackays rather than with Special Rack Fixtures from Sun.

There seems to be a fairly strong consensus, which I'm even mostly part of. Well, except there's a more even spread on when it actually works.

I'm of the strong opinion there should have been a never, or an It's close enough option to answer the question of when it was mounted level.

To an obvious wheel-related tune:

The holes in the rack go 1,2,3, 4,5,6, 7,8,9

The holes in the rack are numbered one through eight on the other side

If only lj comments could have inline music ...

Aww, that's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day.

The real answers: Heath Robinsonthat brick-layer from Hoffnungunholyremove the badgerunder the sofa and wait for the yak's hair to regrow More Fun.

The Wisdom of Crowds has converged quite sharply on the wrong answer.

Clearly you are a manipulator and rabble-rouser. I shall keep an eye on you from now on.

Well, you inspired a "you'd THINK, wouldn't you?"-themed post about calculations on my LJ, so that's one useful thing. Sort of.
