Interesting statistics. My own book database doesn't give that kind of granularity; I just record the year of purchase and the yes/no of whether I've read them yet. In the last ten years or so, my unread-list ballooned to over 200; then I instigated Rules, and over three years pulled it down to about 30, at which point I realized I wasn't comfortable with the idea of not having any backlog at all. Currently it's somewhere in the 50s, with very little that's been around for more than a couple of years, but it's fairly unusual for me to read things as soon as I get them.
