We speak French here and call it autumn.
Also, we're having the Farthing Party the week before that, so if you came then you could see lots of your friends who you couldn't otherwise see unless you went into the US, plus James Nicoll.

As much as I feel for the North, I have to say it is better to go earlier in the summer when the days are long if you haven't been here before.
Late September can be very nice, the mountains in particular, but it can also be rather rainy and cool. Of course, it depends on what you plan to do.

Ireland, though it will rain. Skip Dublin though, just go directly west. Cattle ferry runs Swansea to Cork.
