I have tried cutting the meadow with shears.

I have determined after two hours and three attempts that it is not practical to cut the meadow with shears.

Do any of my Cambridge readers have a strimmer I could borrow for an afternoon?

I think so. I could bring it on Monday?

That would be exceptionally awesome if you don't mind carrying gardening equipment to the far far side of far far Arbury.

I think it would be safer for you to aim for 8:30pm than for 8pm on Monday, since I imagine you're not joining us for bugshaw-poisoning pizza served on bugshaw-back-buggering chairs, and the pizza is sometimes served very slowly.

I thought I would spring for a cab (and bring picture of puppy which I am not desperate to unload, oh no) there and walk back.

Ah, pizza. Sometimes it's hard to be a bugshaw.

I'll check the shed tomorrow for strimmer and let you know if I have just been imagining it :-)

Aww, puppy! I can take down the carefully-framed piece of wallpaper-from-the-side-wall that has been carefully hung on the front wall, and replace it with a puppy, and all things will be better.

Why do they serve the pizza on chairs? Plates are more usual, with chairs reserved for the customers, instead.

Cambridge. Weird customs. Just ask Rupert Brooke.
