there's an on-line exhibition of all the designs submitted for the Euro notes competition. Pick a designer and a denomination, mouse-over the note to see the other side.

I like the snail on Robert Ballagh's EUR5, and the leaf on the reverse of Erik Bruun's EUR100.
The Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.A. 's EUR50 seems to be the graphic-design equivalent of ransom-note desktop publishing
